2006 Publication of Oireachtas Joint Committee on Health & Children, “The high levels of suicide in Irish Society”.
2006 Launch of the North’s “Protect Life – a shared vision (suicide prevention strategy and action plan, 2006-2011) led to the establishment of the All Island Suicide Prevention Action Plan.
2007 Set up of the National office for Suicide Prevention, with target of reducing the overall suicide rate by 10% by 2010.
